Long Beach DC-8 House Colors Poster
Long Beach DC-8 House Colors Poster
Poster size is 14" wide by 20" tall, including a one-inch white border, and is printed on heavyweight, acid-free poster stock.
It's the dawn of the Jet Age, and the first Douglas DC-8 has taken to the sky above the company's iconic "Fly DOUGLAS" sign at Long Beach. This Jet Age Art print, illustrated by Chris Bidlack, depicts the largely forgotten first "house colors" livery of Ship One, N8008D, which first flew in 1957. The Long Beach plant, home to all 556 DC-8s built between 1957 and 1972, has been closed for years, but remains, along with its still-standing sign, a fond and vivid memory for thousands of the former plant workers and employees of the Douglas Aircraft Company.
The print will arrive carefully packaged and ready for you to unroll and frame. (Framing instructions included.) Click on the image to see the full poster in detail. (And of course, the "JetAgeArt.com" watermark does not appear on the actual poster.)
